First of all, a huge “THANK YOU!” to the brave men and women in the medical profession giving their all to combat this Corona (not China or Wuhan) virus wreaking worldwide havoc. In addition to following their advice about social distancing, both the public and private sector should be providing everything needed for them to do their jobs. Unfortunately for these doctors, nurses and healthcare workers, that’s not what’s happening.  

Healthcare Workers On The Pandemic Frontline Falling Ill

Currently there is a severe shortage of personal protective equipment that these COVID-19 heroes require. Masks and respirators do not generally lend themselves to re-use “because they work by trapping harmful particles inside the mesh of fibers of which they are made,” a federal report says. Federal guidance for limited re-use of N95 respirator masks is here, and also warns about contamination risks.
