At my law school, I was the only black man in 1990 to graduate. Nine years later, this photo was taken in my judge’s chamber. It was my first year on the bench and I was featured in a legal publication.

I’m truly looking forward to seeing what happens to all these black, male, Harvard Law students, who will comprise the prestigious institution’s Graduating Class of 2021.
